Become a Friend of
Grange Meadow
Grange Meadow is the village of Bletchingley’s very own community
open space providing opportunities to pursue a number of different
sporting, physical and recreational activities and, just as importantly,
is home to Bletchingley’s Annual Village Fair held on the last Sunday
of June for many years. These include football, cricket, lawn bowls,
outdoor gym, basketball court, children’s playground, model slot car
club, rifle club, fitness club or just a place to exercise the dog or enjoy
a picnic. It also has a Pavilion providing toilet facilities and a hydration
point for park users. The Pavilion can also be hired for private events.
Accessible open spaces are the lungs allowing communities to breathe.
Gifted to the community in 1929 by Edmund Blessig Grange Meadow
has been a feature of the Bletchingley community for almost 100 years.
Grange Meadow is managed by Grange Meadow CIC (formerly
Bletchingley Sports Association) a not-for-profit community interest
company raising funds for the upkeep of the Grange Meadow site and
its buildings as well as supporting other community projects. The cost
of maintaining the facilities, and the many improvements we hope
to make to keep Grange Meadow serving the community in the best
possible way, is significant. Funding from local authorities is limited
and imminent restructuring of local authority structures will mean we
have to be ever more self funding. As we look to generate more funds
by increasing the
current activities
and adding more
events to the
calendar we will
still need all the
help we can get to
continue to make
Grange Meadow
relevant to the
community and be
something we can
all value and take
pride in.
To help with this
objective we
are launching
Friends of Grange
Meadow. By
becoming a Friend
of Grange Meadow
you can help safeguard its
recreational and sporting activities,
promote wellbeing and good
mental health, provide space and
facilities for friends and families
to socialise and host community
events. In turn we will keep you
informed, at an early stage, of
all developments and events.
Whether as an individual or a
business you can donate to help
us meet the needs of Grange
Meadow now and in the future.
You can either donate as a one off
or regular payments. If you wish
you can donate your time and
join the group of volunteers that
currently help run Grange Meadow
in a myriad of different ways.
Contact us at grangemeadow@
yahoo.com for details as to how
you can donate or help to support
Grange Meadow.
If we all work together, as a
community, we can not only
preserve Grange Meadow for the
long term but enhance its value to
the community.
