Oxted to Launch
Local Gift Card
Scheme Supporting
Town Businesses
The initiative is part of the national
Town & City Gift Card programme
from fintech company Miconex,
which has helped drive over £45
million in local spending across
the UK and Ireland. CEO Colin
Munro added:
“When people receive the Oxted
Gift Card, the first thing they’ll do
is check where they can spend it –
so the more businesses that sign
up, the more footfall and spend
we’ll see on local high streets.”
Businesses interested in joining
the scheme can register their
interest / sign up now to be
included in the launch and listed
on the card’s “where to spend”
directory - Contact Sophie Martin

Oxted is gearing up for the launch of a new initiative
designed to boost local shopping and support town businesses. Set to
launch this September, the Oxted Gift Card will be valid across a wide
range of local outlets – from shops and salons to cafés, restaurants,
and service providers.
Backed by Love Oxted (Oxted Business Improvement District), the
card works like a regular gift card but can only be used with registered
Oxted businesses, helping to keep money circulating in the local
economy. Any customer-facing business in the area is eligible to join
the scheme for free, with no special equipment required to accept the
card.
Sophie Martin, BID Manager for Love Oxted, said:
“The aim is simple – to keep Oxted money in Oxted. This gift card is
an easy, long-term way for people to support local businesses. Once
it launches, we hope to see residents purchasing the card as gifts, or
even for personal use, to help our high street thrive.”
The physical gift card design was chosen by local businesses, and a
digital version will also be available, which can be added to mobile
wallets.
