Valentine’s Day, National Pizza
Day meets Super Bowl Sunday
and Shrove Tuesday, this
month is all about the feast!
Did you know 9th February is
National Pizza Day? There’s
plenty of opportunity to
celebrate this amazing
invention, courtesy of Brisk,
The Other Side (at Bru & Bear)
and Pizza Express, or pop into
the shops and buy your own
ingredients for a Pizza and
Super Bowl night on the sofa!
If you’re more into the sweet stuff, then head to Toast, Bru & Bear,
Skyline, Oxted Desserts or Café Papillon for your pancake treats on
13th February - Shrove Tuesday.
You won’t be allowed to forget that Valentine’s is the big focus mid-
month, and pretty much all the restaurants will have a Valentine’s
Specials, as well as flowers, jewellery and gifts ideas galore in all our
amazing high street businesses.
What’s on:
Hammond’s - Monthly quiz night on 4th February, Galantine’s night
13th February, as well as (obviously!) Valentine’s specials on 14th
February and live music with Moonshine & Molly on 19th February.
Hammond’s is looking a chef to join the team. Please apply direct.
The Ginistry - February’s entertainment at our favourite Gin Bar includes
their legendary Quiz night on the 6th, Super Bowl Sunday party on the
9th, live music throughout the month, plus an open mic with Matt &
Martin AND Musical Bingo! keep an eye on their social media for dates.
Cattle & Cocktail - If you’re after cocktails with benefits, there’s 50% off
all steaks on Tuesdays; Thursdays it’s all about the £8 Martinis, and £20
Prix fixe menus on Wednesday and Thursdays. Not to mention Happy
Hour Tuesday to Friday 5-6pm! Rude not to really.
Don’t Miss! Royal Ballet and Opera: Swan Lake at the Everyman Oxted
on 27th February! Classical ballet’s most powerful tale of love, treachery

Goodbye to Co-op
We were really sad to say goodbye
to Co-op Oxted at the end of
January. This came as a big shock
to everyone, and we wish the best
to all the staff of this much-loved
store. There has been a Co-op
on station road east, in a couple
of different locations, for many
decades. Who remembers trading
in their co-op coupons at the shop
when it was where Boots is now,
and when we had a Woolworths
down at the bottom?
Welcome to Playhouse Oxted
We’re very happy to say hello
to Playhouse Oxted, formerly
Playtown, which has just re-
opened under new ownership next
to Idol Hands/EM10 on Station
Road West. The cafe has been
revamped, and there’s lots of great
imaginative play and soft play for
young children.
Playhouse will be open 7 days
a week. Under 2s only Tuesday
and Friday 9-11. Monday - Friday
3-4pm - half price hour sessions.
