Fans of legendary rock group Pink Floyd are in for
a powerful night of nostalgia, music, and immersive
theatre as acclaimed tribute band On Thin Ice bring
their full-scale live show to the Barn Theatre in Oxted
on Saturday, July 26th. The performance promises
more than just a setlist of classic hits, it’s a faithful,
atmospheric tribute to one of Britain’s most influential
bands, blending live sound, cinematic visuals, and
stagecraft in a venue steeped in local theatrical
history.
The show will draw inspiration from iconic live Floyd
moments, including re-creations of tracks featured
on the recent remastered release of Live at Pompeii,
where the band famously performed in an empty
Roman amphitheatre. Using lighting, projections, and
sonic detail, On Thin Ice aims to transform the Barn
Theatre stage into a Floydian dreamscape.
With over a decade of touring under their belt,
On Thin Ice have built a reputation for stunningly
accurate renditions of Pink Floyd’s greatest works.
Their Oxted performance will cover material from
Meddle, The Dark Side of the Moon, Animals, The
Wall, and a special nod to Wish You Were Here, which
celebrates
its 50th
anniversary
this year.
“This music was made to be experienced live, and
there’s something truly powerful about performing
it in a space like the Barn Theatre,” says the band’s
frontman Nigel Polley. “It’s the perfect blend of
intimacy and atmosphere.”
A Historic Venue for a Timeless Sound. The Barn
Theatre has been a cherished part of Oxted’s cultural
life since 1924, when it opened inside a 14th-century
barn.
From the psychedelic swirl of “Shine On You Crazy
Diamond” to the anthemic power of “Comfortably
Numb,” this one-night-only performance invites
audiences, whether a lifelong fan or recently
introduced, to celebrate the enduring legacy of Pink
Floyd in this intimate environment.
A Night of Nostalgia
