BURGER
BOWL
For the Burger Bites
•
500g minced beef (or
4 burgers, or veggie
burgers)
•
30g breadcrumbs
•
1 egg
•
1 tablespoon
Worcestershire sauce
•
1 small shallot, peeled
and grated
•
Salt and pepper to taste
For the Salad
•
1 Avocado
•
1 small head of lettuce
•
200g baby plum
tomatoes
•
100g gherkins, sliced
(drained weight)
•
100g black olives,
drained, pitted and
sliced
•
100g grated cheddar
cheese
•
100g tortilla chips
For the Burger Sauce
•
4 tablespoons
mayonnaise (or vegan
mayo)
•
4 tablespoons ketchup
•
2 teaspoons Dijon
mustard

This was fun to make! I’ve seen
these on social media and wanted
to create my own.
I’ve given a recipe for the burger
bites, but you can just use shop
bought burgers, cook as instructed
and then cut up into pieces.
If you don’t eat meat, then Beyond
meat burgers (or Beyond meat,
meat balls) work very well.
This recipe serves four.
1. Preheat oven to 220c
2. Beat the egg and mix in the
grated shallot, Worcestershire
sauce and salt and pepper.
3. Break up the mince, mix
in the breadcrumbs and
then combine with the wet
ingredients (You can just put
all the burger bites ingredients
into a blender and blitz)
4. Place the burger bites onto a
baking sheet and bake in the
oven for about 15 mins (or
until starting to brown and
cooked through – ovens really
vary!)
5. You could also cook the
burger bites under the grill or
pan fry them.
6. Assemble the salad.
7. Break up the lettuce and
divide into 4 bowls. Chop up
the gherkins, avocado, olives
and tomatoes and share
between the bowls.
8. Sprinkle the grated cheese
over the bowls.
9. Decorate the edges of the
plates with the tortilla chips
(as shown)
10. Once cooked add the burger
bites.
11. Drizzle the burger sauce over
the bowls. Serve!
You can really play around with this
recipe, use potato or sweet potato
fries in place of the tortilla chips,
use sweetcorn, roasted peppers,
cucumber, spring onion etc in the
salad & leave out anything you
don’t like (ie gherkins!)
