Titsey Rotary Club: Having
fun - helping people
There are so many highlights of being
a member of Titsey Rotary Club, it’s
hard to know where to begin. In the
two years since I joined, I’ve made
new friends, had new experiences and
enjoyed a great social life. But most
importantly, there’s nothing like the
satisfaction I get when we are helping
out a good cause, either by rolling
up our sleeves and getting directly
involved, or with financial support.
Soon after I joined Titsey Rotary Club,
I heard about nearly 150 shrubs, that
were available for relocating from
Brighton to any charity that could use
them. My new friends in Rotary rallied
round with offers of transport, strong
arms and help with finding recipients
for the plants. We donated the
plants to Young Epilepsy at Lingfield,
who have a strong horticultural
department, and to Hurst Green
Community Garden. This was a great
introduction to the power of being
part of a group of like-minded people.
I could not have done this on my own.
The club’s motto is ‘having fun -
helping people’ and it really sums up
what it is like being a member.
If you’d like to find out more why not
come and meet us at Oxted British
Legion on Wednesday, 27 November
from 19.00? Or, if you can’t make it,
send me an email
membership@titsey.org.uk or check
