Remember the days when you
wanted to search the internet
and had to type in a few carefully
chosen words, hit “Enter,” and
hope for the best? Searching is
evolving with the help of AI. From
Google’s new Gemini AI to Apple’s
intelligence tools and Microsoft
Edge’s AI-powered search, the
future of finding information
online has undergone a sleek,
high-tech makeover.
Google Gemini AI: - Google is no
stranger to AI, and with its Gemini
AI, it’s taking search to the next
level. Gemini is Google’s latest
AI project, aiming to enhance
how we interact with the search
engine. This AI doesn’t just
scour the internet for answers, it
understands context. So, when
you search for something vague
like “best cafes near the park,”
Gemini can know which park
you’re talking about and even
your coffee preferences based on
past activity.
Gemini is also great with
multimedia searches. Have
a photo of a plant you can’t
name? No problem - Google’s
image search combined with AI
recognition can identify it for you.
Just take a photo, upload it, and
the plant’s name and care tips
pop up. It’s like having a genius
gardener in your pocket.
The AI can also control your

phone, turn on
the torch, set an
alarm or send
a WhatsApp
with just a voice
command.
Google’s tools
are moving
from being your
digital librarian to
becoming your
personal assistant.
Apple’s Intelligence - Apple’s new
AI tools are built into the system
itself, using AI to help users
find everything from photos to
documents. Vague search terms
can now often lead to exactly
what you needed? That’s Apple’s
AI at work.
Apple Intelligence, Like Google
Gemini, is also helpful with image
and video recognition. With tools
like Visual Lookup, you can now
identify objects, plants, pets, or
landmarks directly from your
photos.
Microsoft Bing - While Bing
hasn’t always been the go-to
search engine, Microsoft Edge
is changing that perception.
Powered by OpenAI, Bing’s search
capabilities have dramatically
improved, making it much
more competitive with Google.
Microsoft’s integration of ChatGPT
into its Edge browser allows for a
conversational search experience.
Answers with AI
Type in a complex question, and
instead of just producing a list of
links, it will provide a plain text
answer.
One of the new features is visual
search. Just drag a photo into
Bing’s search bar, and it will pull
up information related to the
image. The feature even works
with videos, allowing you to
search for scenes or items within
a clip.
It is now possible to take a picture
of your dog, and Google, Apple,
or Bing will tell you what breed it
is, what its favourite food might
be, and where the nearest pet
store is located.
Using a photo or video to search,
feels like a glimpse into the future,
and maybe, just maybe, we’ll be
nostalgic for the days when we
actually had to use our brains to
figure things out. But probably
not.
