Kerr to run virtual marathon in aid of Moor House

Alex Kerr, who will be running the Virtual London Marathon in aid of Moor House School & College

Local resident Alex Kerr is set to run his first full marathon when he takes part in the Virtual London Marathon on Sunday 4th October in aid of Moor House, a specialist School & College in Hurst Green for children and young people with language disorders.

With both the original and rescheduled dates for the prestigious race cancelled due to the pandemic Alex, the brother of year 10 teacher Mrs Taylor, will complete a solo run around Westerham, Limpsfield, Oxted and Hurst Green, which will include running past the school, starting at 9am.

Moor House Events & Community Fundraising Officer Tia Melbourne says: “Alex has trained long and hard for this event and it’s such a shame for him that he won’t get the full experience.

“However, it’s a great credit to him that he has kept up his training and is determined to still complete the distance to raise funds for us.

“We’d really like the Moor House community and other local residents to cheer him on at various points along the route to show our thanks and support, adhering to all social distancing and gathering guidance of course.”
