Christmas in Limpsfield
December is always a lovely time in Limpsfield and
quite often we have had a little dusting of snow
- usually not over Christmas itself, but you never
know…! Here’s the low-down of what’s going on this
festive month…
Launch of The Limpsfield Home Company at
Wickham’s Courtyard: Following the departure
of the Potting Shed, there’s a fabulous new tenant
in the courtyard just in time for Christmas. The
Limpsfield Home Company is a collaboration between
two artistic and creative friends, Carolyn Orr and
ceramicist, Debbie Wisniewski. They’ll be selling
beautiful, handcrafted items, including ceramics, art,
candles, throws, cushions and other home decor.
Follow them on @thelimpsfieldhomecompany.
Where to buy presents: Limpsfield Village has some
wonderful shops, with fabulous present ideas for all
the family… for foodie gifts, there’s Memorial Stores
and The Limpsfield Cookery School; for fashion and
accessories, head to Bey Tree and for homewares, pop
in to see The Limpsfield Home Company – both at
Wickham’s Courtyard and open Thursday to Saturday
10-4pm.
As well as delicious food, Coffee at Kiwi House also
sells a selection of bags and painted jars which are
great as gifts. For artwork, cards, prints and lots of
other items, head to Kate Tulett’s Art for All and for
health, beauty and wellbeing gifts and vouchers, pop
into Free To Be Yoga, Balman Aesthetics or Limpsfield
Fitness.
Light Up Limpsfield this December: As ever, we
love seeing all the door wreaths and twinkly lights
about the Village and Chart Village. Please try your
best to make Limpsfield sparkle! The annual St Peter’s
Christmas Tree Parade is a wonderful event each year
with a line of trees all sponsored and dressed by local
businesses and organisations. This year, the trees
need to be dressed and ready to impress by the end
of w/c 9th December. Enquiries to St Peters: 01883
712512.
Where to get your tree… Northdowns Nursery just
off Titsey Road (lane by The Boys Home) usually has
its lovely trees in by the last weekend of November or
first weekend of December, but be quick, they don’t
last long!
Don your Christmas Jumpers for Children in Need!
Time to get out your Christmas jumpers, if you
haven’t already, as officially it’s Christmas Jumper
Day on Thursday 12th December… The Chart Coffee
Morning is hosting a special Christmas Jumper
morning on Wednesday 18th December, fundraising
for Children in Need. 10am to 12pm at St Andrew’s
Village Hall, Limpsfield Chart.
Get crafty: There are some lovely Christmas craft
events going on this month, with Kate Tulett and
Helena Fuller running workshops for decorations and
gifts every day from 16th to 20th December. Check
Kate’s website for pricing and booking details. www.

For the Kids… The Bull Inn has a full Breakfast with
Santa on 14th December, with two sittings – 9am and
11am - when it will be turning its grain store into a
fun and festive Santa’s Grotto.
The Royal British Legion at Grub Street will also be
hosting its Kids Christmas Party on 14th December.
Bring the little ones along for a magical Christmas
celebration just for them. Fun activities, festive treats,
and a visit from Santa himself!
Also coming up at the Legion, is the Annual Grand
Christmas Draw on Sunday, 15th December, featuring
some wonderful prizes to make the season extra
