A Summer of Top
Quality Live Music!
It’s a busy summer of live music at The Oxted Sessions, with Americana,
folk, soul and rock & roll all represented, featuring artists from the UK,
the US and even Australia. The wide-ranging line-up sees some of the
most exciting up and coming talent showcased (Glitterfox; Rob Green)
as well as established legends (R.E.M.’s Peter Buck). Whoever is on the
bill, though, great evenings of top quality live music await!
Saturday 14th June – Danny & The Champions Of The World / Our
Man In The Field at Hurst Green Community Centre.
Something of a dream line-up for UK Americana fans!
Our Man In The Field are well known to Oxted Sessions’ patrons. Alex
Ellis (“one of the finest songwriters to emerge on the Americana scene
for many a year”, Americana UK) and a variable cast of collaborators
have played several times at Oxted and have always delighted the
crowd. This year they have played at The Royal Albert Hall and the
iconic Kilkenny Roots festival in Ireland, alongside successful runs
opening for Jackson Dean in the UK and Chuck Prophet across Europe.
Danny & The Champions Of The World are perhaps “The Kings of
UK Americana” (The Rocking Magpie) and are 3-time winners at the
prestigious UK Americana Awards. Their most recent album “You Are
Not A Stranger Here” - released last October - garnered fantastic
reviews, which acknowledged a band performing at the peak of its
powers.

Thursday 3rd July – Glitterfox w/ Sofia Ford opening at Oxted
United Reformed Church.
Glitterfox are an indie rock band based in Portland, Oregon, and come
to Oxted as part of their first ever UK tour. The band’s reputation

in August 2023, with their perfectly calibrated pop-rock that is both
melodious and anthemic.
The four-piece band’s songwriters and front persons, married couple
Solange Igoa and Andrea Walker, have always channeled their personal
struggles as well as experiences as queer, neurodiverse individuals
into their songwriting; while bassist Eric Stalker and drummer Blaine
Heinonen bring a love of Americana, grunge, and dance music into the
mix.
Opening the evening is Sofia Ford.
Sofia is a 22 year old singer
songwriter, multi-instrumentalist
and producer from south London.
As a rock/pop artist Sofia has a big
passion for 90s rock music as well
as well as blues, influences that
can be heard in her music. As Sofia
has progressed in the industry she
has written, self-produced and
recorded all of her music as well as
directing her videos and imagery.
