Issue.
There is so much to
look forward to this month in and
around Oxted and Limpsfield. You
will find details throughout the
magazine of regular events to one
off big events taking place.
One such event is Surrey Day
which returns on Saturday 10
May, celebrating the rich heritage,
culture and beauty of our wooded
county. Now in its seventh year,
this edition coincides with the 80th
anniversary of VE Day, focusing on
Surrey’s role in World War II. To
mark the occasion, Visit Surrey has
recorded a special podcast with
the Friends of Limpsfield Common
– National Trust guardians of the
air raid shelters – which will be
broadcast on BBC Radio Surrey
and podcast platforms on Surrey
Day. The shelters themselves
will be open to visitors on 10
May from 2–5pm (pre-booking
required via Eventbrite).
On 19 May, Titsey Rotary Club
will be celebrating their 40th
Anniversary. On page 10, Carolle
Stent has shared a piece about
how the club started and what
it looks like today. If you are
interested in joining or would just
like to know a bit more, you would
be very welcome to go along to
one of their meetings.
