Time is running out to secure funding to warm your home
Residents have until 31 March to apply for funding to help make their homes warmer, cut their bills and improve their green credentials.
The Green Jump Surrey project provides up to £15,000 of funding for eligible households to make energy saving improvements like loft and wall insulation, renewable heating, LED lighting and draught proofing. More than 350 households across Surrey have signed up to the scheme, run by the domestic energy efficient service, Action Surrey.
To be eligible, you must either:
- Live in a hard to heat home.
- Receive a means-tested benefit.
- Have a total household income of less than £30,000.
Private and social housing landlords can also receive funding to cover two-thirds of the cost of installing solid wall insulation up to £5,000.
A total of £6.2 million has been secured from central government for this project, in addition to £750,000 confirmed by Surrey County Council.
Funding under the scheme is allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, so eligible residents interested in making energy efficient improvements to their homes should register their interest by the 31 March deadline.
